Toran Or Door Hanging

 

Torans, Bandhanwars or Door Hangings call what you may are the most important of all Diwali decorative items. These are used to adorn the main entrance door and that of the worship room to welcome Goddess Lakshmi. Diwali Toran are handcrafted and embellished with embroidery, bells, beads, mirror, shells, image of     Lord Ganesha etc.

MATERIAL

• Glass Color- water based


• 3-D outliner


• OHP Sheet


• Design pattern


• Glue / Fevicol / Tape


• Beads and Bells


• Rings and Thread

INSTRUCTION

1. Draw or Trace the design on the paper.


2. Fix the OHP Sheet to the design using tape


3. Outline the Design on OHP Sheet using Silver and Golden 3-D outliner. Let it dry completely.


4. Remove the OHP sheet from paper.


5. Fill the design with different color Glass colors like Green, Yellow, Red, Blue, Brown, Pink etc. Let it dry.


6. Cut the Design from OHP sheet leaving a little end to fix to thread.


7. Stick the Design on the thread and thread beads in between them.


8. Attach Bell to alternate Patterns.


9. Attach Rings at the end to help in hanging them.
